Work for rights and earn top money

Help workers get protection, pay rises, influence and their rights at work.

Work Partners is looking for new starters at the frontline positions that are called Membership Consultants. These people work in teams talking to people about issues at work. Where appropriate, they recruit new union members. The work is done on busy streets, at workplaces, in shopping centres, and at doors.

Membership Consultants earn an hourly rate, plus a bonus, with the total being a very respectable wage for the age and experience of the individual. Depending on performance, you earn $20-35 per hour.

If you want to see Australia, there are paid travel opportunities available, both short-term and long-term.

You can work either part time or full time. Shifts are available either during the week, or on weekends, or a combination of both. Some shifts are during the day, and some are early evening, depending on what works well for you and us.

You can master the entry level Membership Consultant role within a matter of weeks, and career progression is then available to Team Leader, and then onto Campaign Manager, or other management or office roles.

Team Leaders lead a team of 3-5 people, coach them, and also do their own recruiting. Team Leaders earn a substantially higher hourly rate. You learn a lot about the important skills of coaching, leading and organising. (All unions are looking for enthusiastic people with these skills).

Campaign Managers manage the Team Leaders, visiting them at work sites to coach and inspire the team.

All roles develop an excellent knowledge of union and political issues. These roles also develop extremely useful "people skills", vitality and confidence. Such skills will be highly useful throughout your career.

You'll also be doing important and interesting work that can help build a better world. Our approach builds on the traditional role of the unions that are our clients, but also has them seen in an even better light by the public. This is not only because of the approach we use (see the "What we do" tab), but also because the public appreciates seeing unions at workplaces and outdoor locations listening to workers' issues.

Excellent training in sales, coaching and activism is provided. No experience is required for the Membership Consultant role.

Sponsorship for immigration purposes is available if you meet appropriate criteria.

Immediate starts are available.
